The first thing to always remember when you are thinking of buying a used car is if you really want to deal with the fact that it is not under warranty and could have an unknown history. You may not know if it has been in a wreck in the past or has had the motor replaced. There are all sorts of things that a car could have endured through out its life and you may never truly know the history of it as you would if you purchased a brand new car from a dealership.

When purchasing a used car you should first check around to different used automobile dealerships and find out if they have a good reputation for selling a lemon or a good running, reliable car. If you have purchased a used automobile you should always have it looked over by a certified mechanic to make sure that it is in great working order and does not have any sort of complications that will cause it to have you stranded on a dark highway in the middle of the night. Try to avoid having the dealerships mechanic look it over. I'm not saying that they may be deceiving, but they just might be so that they can make that sale.

Be sure to thoroughly test drive any used automobile that you are thinking about purchasing. You can also check with the used dealership to see if the car may come with a limit warranty. Some dealerships offer you a 30 day or 90 day limited warranty.
